NASCAR Surprise!

Oh my goodness, I pulled off the coolest surprise for Ricky, to celebrate his 50th Birthday this past weekend! I got him the NASCAR Racing Experience (<--- click for link) @Texas Motor Speedway! It is something I have wanted to do for a very long time, and I was finally able to do it.

Back in February, he and a friend were at the RV Show in Dallas. I decided to check out the web site for pricing, dates, etc. They were having a Buy one/Get one 1/2 off sale, so I called his friend's wife to see if she wanted to go in on it. I was able to book it right then, and set their time for September. The problem was that I had to keep this secret for SIX MONTHS! It was tough at first, but with everything else going on in our lives this Spring, I soon put it out of my thoughts.

Then July came and I began thinking about how I would present this fabulous gift to him. That is when I talked to my friend that makes cakes! She is a wonderfully talented local artist that has a small business making yummy specialty cakes & cupcakes. The following pictures are what she created for the special surprise!

While I was reading my little speech (that is what he is holding in the photo above) he said, "Let me see that!"--before I was even finished! He just could not believe what he was hearing! *BIG SMILE*

So, it was a wonderful surprise! I will probably hear about it everyday until it actually happens, and then everyday about how great it was! Ha! We get to go along and take pictures and video of the whole thing, so that will be really exciting for us too.

My key phrase for this brithday: Celebrate BIG! My, oh my, how he will be celebrating....

Stopping by to let you know you're still in my prayers!
