Lucky number 13...

Well, well, I'm going to try a different font and size to see what I like. I will "jazz up" this blog in time, but I am just trying to get some thoughts down as they come to me.

Before I married, my name was always pretty far down on the class roll. (I sure am glad I am a "B" now! LOL) In 3rd grade, I was number 13 in our class. Everything from my locker, to my papers were marked with that number all year long. For me, it was always lucky--as opposed to the dreaded number 13! Today, my little boy (!) now wears a size 13 shoe! WHOA!

I know some, if not all, buildings don't even number their 13th floor. So, does that mean that a fifty story building is actually only 49 stories?

Tomorrow is Friday the 13th. I am sure there will be stories of how unlucky the day is supposed to be, but I will be quietly smiling, remembering my 3rd grade year, and how far I've come to see my young man wearing a size 13 shoe!

Thought for today: To be different, I am going to open my Bible to a page; whatever book it is, I will go to chapter 13 (if there is one) and verse 13; let's see what happens. "You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am." John 13:13 I really like the verse that follows: "If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet." John 13:14

  1. I really hate all the lucky/unlucky talk. All things are in the Lord's Hands!
    Continuing to pray!
1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

  2. So.....how was your Friday the 13th! Assuming it went well!
    Still here praying as always!
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
