Road Trip... Second Day

After many, many hours of sleep for me (14, and I still felt like I had been run over by a truck!), we decided to try again to see those cars
in Carrollton. I switched seats with Keegan, because he had a hard time in the back during our Oklahoma trip the day before. Those long legs just don't fit too well in the back!

As we began, I was amazed at how hot it was outside; then I looked at the temperature on the thermometer:

Yikes, another 100++ degree day! Were we crazy?
I continued to enjoy the scenic views we had:

More suburbs...

And fields of...something...

Pasture land...

On and on, until we saw something familiar: Castle Hills addition! Yes folks, we were right by our destination the night before!

We saw the first car, and it was very disappointing. It felt like riding in a box of junk. Ugh. The second car was owned by a young lady, and her ad said, "Good conditioning, female owner." Ba ha ha ha! It was NOT in 'good conditioning'. It had body damage that was not repaired well, crackling paint, a bald tire with the steel belt showing, and it was messy! Huge disappointment!

As we drove home, we anticipated another few days of searching for just the right car. Suddenly, Ricky pulled over and turned around in a little town kind of close to home. There was a very pretty site:

This car was a bit different than what we were looking for originally. We liked the Honda Accords, this was a Toyota Camry. It was also a bit newer than what we looked at before. The car appeared in great shape! Ricky contacted the owner, made an appointment to test drive it the next evening (I had to work), and after some discussion, decided to buy it! Hooray!

Teenager approved!

I am very thankful for this new-to-me car, because it means better gas mileage, no more money sunk into the mini van, and a 'cool' ride for a change! It should last us a long time!

New car for Michelle....SCORE!

The End.

  1. Whew! What a time of it! And after all that your husband just "happened" to see it in passing! You look good in it! Hope you enjoy it for a very long time!
    Continuing to pray!
2 Samuel 22:31-33 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

  2. Hope you're having a fantastic time away!
Know that I'm continuing to lift up prayers!
Psalms 27:4-5 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

  3. Praying!
Psalms 27:6-7 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

  4. Praying right now!
Romans 8:26-28 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
